Pomona, Kansas founded in 1869

Pomona is a third class city of 952 residents located in northwestern Franklin County, Kansas, 10 minutes from Ottawa, 45 minutes from Topeka, 30 minutes from Lawrence and 50 minutes from the KC-metro area. The population has been relatively stable over the past 30 years.

A Mayor / Council form of government provides leadership for the city with regular meetings held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. The current city officials are Joann Hancock, Mayor and council members; Bill Lloyd, Joe Goracke, Dorothy Pritchard, Keith Larson, and Mary Whitaker.

Pomona is zoned and building permits are required.
